My actual birthday day was full of ahh-mazingness from beginning to end. I knew I wanted to add a dash of sparkle to my outfit on this day to celebrate this last year of sparkle. I chose to wear this incredible top from TOPSHOP. It actually looks like a vintage lace top, which is why I love it even more. For the bottom, I knew I had to go with my favorite blue full skirt, there's just nothing like feeling extra girly on your birthday, right? Throughout my birthday, I filled the day with my most favorite of things [cue Julie Andrews song]...
I started my day off at Barry's Boot Camp. If you haven't tried it... let me tell you, it is crazy + amazing all in one. It's one of those classes you want to quit within the first 5 minutes, but then keep going because it feels SO good.
I then quickly got ready and headed over to Balthazar for an incredible breakfast with my fab roomie Sydney. Oh how I just love this place. They even brought my out a croissant with a candle, just to make me feel extra loved. Honestly, if you haven't been to Balthazar in NYC, it's a MUST for any and all visitors. It is a true frenchie scene right in the heart of NYC's Soho.
After this lovely morning, I ran around town a bit more. I made a pit stop at one of my fav shops Piperlime, and then continued onto shop the line Maje at this adorable store in Soho. You can shop the full collection online at Bloomingdales. The people at this store were SO fabulous and helpful. I couldn't help but leave the store spending a pretty penny. My favorite thing I bought was a sparkle blazer. I was celebrating a year of sparkle so it made sense [oh how I justify things!].
I finished off the day at the Brahmin Wearable Art Event where I got to spend time with my great friend Marissa. Here I met some amazing new blogger friends, Jessica from Prosecco and Plaid and Grace Atwood of Stripes and Sequins, who co-hosted the event. These girls are extra fabulous + chic, what a pleasure meeting them both! Check out Jess's post on the Brahmin event as well as Grace's amazing post.
We ended the night at Palma in West Village and I honestly couldn't have been more in LOVE with this restaurant. We ate at their back patio filled with tea lights and giant real roses. I felt like I had escaped to Italy. Even our waiter was Italian! Overall, the entire day was truly a dream...
I woke up the morning of my birthday with the biggest smile on my face, feeling extra thankful. This year has been full of ups and downs, but the one thing I can say without fail is that I would not want to be anywhere else. Through work stresses, tears, and even heart break, I have had the best of friends + family by my side and have remained grateful for my life through any situation. By staying consistent, positive, + most importantly faithful, I have found the utmost joy this last year. The Lord really blessed me as I followed his guidance throughout this year. What a lesson for us all! Stay the course and remain faithful + positive no matter what comes your way.
The best part? This blog has been the biggest source of joy these last few months! I want to thank everyone for being so supportive, especially my friends and close family for their love and constant support through this endeavor. YOU ALL are what makes each day of this journey that much more exciting.
So MERCI MERCI MERCI BCP! Here's to another year of great adventures + all things lovely!
Bisous Bisous -K
