FRENCH BIRTHDAY

Yes, it's true. I threw a French themed BBQ and just had to make it look perfectly frenchie. From the blue + red floral table cloth, to the mason jars, to the little candles.. and that's not even including the food! Croissants, macaroons, fromage, mini sandwiches + more!

One of my favorite little recipes was my mini grilled cheese baguette sandwiches. Oh-la OUI were these ever a hit [and SO easy].

INGREDIENTS:

1 baguette

8-10 slices of cheddar cheese

6-8 roma tomatoes

First, take the roma tomatoes and slice them short ways. Next, slice the bread in small one inch pieces long ways. Then cut all the square cheddar slices into quarters or halves. Next, put little sandwich bites. For mine, I used a toothpick to keep the sandwiches together.

Heat the over to 250 degrees. Cook the little bites for 25 minutes or until the cheese begins to melt. Remove from the oven

I place a tiny bit of string around the sandwiches for a special little touch of vintage!

After making all the little food for the birthday, I was finally ready to SET the table. There is something just so fun about setting up a table for a special event. You have to get the perfect little pieces that all go together. It actually requires quite a bit of creativeness mentally since you are actually forced to picture what it will all look like together. In the end, I was happy with the setup, complete with striped straws, a mustache accessories, a picnic basket, and more!

Have you ever held a themed party? I would love to hear all of your creative ideas!
